Fabric Collections

There is nothing more tactile than a story told in the design through fabrics. This year, in the world of fabric and textile design, we have seen eras reinvented with a modern touch, vibrant colors that allowed fabrics to take center stage, and even nature to crawl through designs to blur the line between spaces.

Although there were a plethora of new fabric collections, we narrowed them down to our six favorite collections that were launched.

Employee, comrade, friend and neighbor – Sir Emery Walker was all this and more for the now legendary designer William Morris. This collection, which was launched at the beginning of 2023 and was shown at the Deco Off in Paris, focuses on Walker’s residence, 7 Hammersmith Terrace, where a rich selection of original Morris & Co. furniture still adorns rooms today. This collaboration discovers long-unproduced designs and incredible crafts from the house and celebrates 7 Hammersmith Terrace as one of the last great remnants of the Arts & Crafts movement.

The Pleasant Outdoors collection by dedar is a high-performance, easy-to-use fabric for outdoor use and finds common ground in its complete ease of use. Thanks to its design and craftsmanship, fabrics can absorb any kind of tension or impact without being damaged. From bad weather to heavy use, the basis of use is for fun and relaxation, with the freedom to take advantage of any opportunity without having to worry about maintenance or other practical restrictions.

The Time collection by Skopos, first released in 2006, combines geometric contours and more organic silhouettes printed with water on the fabric “Cool Linen”. The linen/cotton blend base fabric added natural beauty to the collection, and the series of graphic shapes kept the collection eye-catching yet simple. Among the designs, Silence gave a retro calm feeling with its stretched ogee shape and vertical movement. The updated design, which maintains the same scale and pattern, simply received a linen background structure for our anniversary collection and is offered in two colors.

At the heart of each client’s experience is the pursuit of comfort. As soon as they enter the room, visitors are looking for a calm atmosphere that calms the senses. Here Edmund Bell’s blackout fabrics appear as unsung heroes of hotel design. Due to the flawless light control, these fabrics allow customers to adapt the environment to their wishes. Whether it’s a late afternoon nap, uninterrupted sleep, or just a penchant for a dimly lit room, blackout fabrics bring the power of mood within reach.

In September, Dedar presented its autumn collection, which covers both fabrics and wall coverings, in which yarn, with all its unique and irreplaceable irregularities, is the protagonist. Amidst threads that intertwine to tell stories and materials that contain new dimensional suggestions, Dedar’s new collection passionately focuses on natural fibers, revealing openness and tactile charm that emanates from sophistication. Silk, linen and raffia are at the heart of the classic plain, texturology and transparency collections, in which the fabric takes on unique shapes and properties.

Our fabric summary is rounded off with a playful touch by a new collection of heirlooms designed by British designer India Hicks. On the surface, Hicks has created a beautiful bedding collection with soft color palettes that fits seamlessly into the Heirlooms portfolio. However, look deeper and you will see humorous accents – an unexpected ant on the back of the pillow embroidered with conch shells, as well as strange whimsical references to the Bahamian life of the designer with glimpses of her beloved dog Banger and parrot Jenga hidden among spider lilies and sunsets.
