The new hotel marks the entry of the legendary Park Hyatt brand in Morocco and offers discerning guests a distinctive experience that combines contemporary and refined opulence with the authenticity and charm of Marrakech…
Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of the Park Hyatt Marrakech, which marks the debut of the Park Hyatt brand in Morocco and the eleventh Park Hyatt hotel in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This arrival also marks the brand’s growing presence in Africa, joining the Park Hyatt Zanzibar and the upcoming Park Hyatt Johannesburg scheduled for 2025.
The 19-hectare resort is located in an exquisite, off-the-overcome-path location at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, about 9 miles from the historic medina district of Marrakech. Surrounded by palm trees, olive trees and jacarandas, the Park Hyatt Marrakech is located next to the beautiful Al Maaden golf Resort and offers its guests exclusive access to the 18-hole course.
The Park Hyatt Marrakech is distinguished from other opulence hotels on the market by a decidedly homely, modern and elegant approach to the Arab-Berber heritage. The hotel invites travelers from all over the world to experience the splendor of Marrakech and Morocco in general, and promotes sensory enrichment through carefully selected touchpoints, including authentic design and focus on the environment, juxtaposed with contemporary art, global gastronomy and the latest developments in personal well-being.
Consisting of 16 pavilions arranged around a central zeolite terrace, the Park Hyatt Marrakech embodies the personal, low–key opulence of the global brand with unexpected, hyper-local experiences for guests-from breakfast with a hot air balloon in the three valleys of the Atlas, to dinner in a Bedouin tent in the Agafay Desert, to airport transfers with luxurious electric cars and much more.
“As a key market for our regional growth strategy, we are pleased to announce the opening of the first Park Hyatt Hotel in Morocco in Marrakech,” said Javier Águila, President of EAME Group, Hyatt. “The property has been a highly anticipated addition to our portfolio, as Morocco is attracting renewed interest among travel connoisseurs as a leading cultural destination. The Park Hyatt Marrakech is the eleventh Park Hyatt hotel in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, after the brand has successfully expanded to major leisure destinations such as Doha, Vienna, Istanbul, Dubai, Zurich, Milan and Paris.”

The renowned interior designer Imaad Rahmouni from Marrakech was inspired by Arab-Berber traditions to create a luxurious contemporary design for the Park Hyatt Marrakech. The design, skillfully balancing the modern amenities of the establishment, while respecting the rich traditions of the destination in terms of craftsmanship and materiality, deliberately emphasizes the surrounding panoramas as an extension of its interiors. From the large lobby window to the spa treatment and relaxation rooms to the sun loungers by the main pool, breathtaking and picturesque views of the majestic Atlas Mountains and Mount Toubkal can be seen.
The 130 rooms and suites inspired by residential buildings are among the most spacious in Marrakech and promise privacy and tranquility with Moroccan accents. Each room has Berber carpets, traditionally woven from pure wool, and headboards depicting the Tataoui pattern (a local roofing technique made of laurel branches), as well as modern works of art from the artist’s residence Ifitry.
Through an exclusive collaboration, Ifitry curated more than 700 paintings and decorative objects especially for Park Hyatt Marrakech with artists from Morocco, Senegal, Benin, Spain, France, Italy and Japan. In the lobby, a masterful pendant lamp – consisting of almost 600 handmade ceramic pieces by the visual artist Mounat Charrat- adorns the ceiling and shows a constellation of meteorites, while two abstract paintings by the Italian artist Gianni Lucchessi form a contrast to the surrounding wall panels made of raw earth.
The Park Hyatt Marrakech offers a variety of authentic, globally inspired restaurants on the property, which reflect the high gastronomic and drink-related know-how of the brand. These include TFAYA, an Arabesque brasserie where the famous Moroccan chef Issam Rhachi presents characteristic dishes with an avant-garde approach.
